China's maritime industry has a scale of 142 million deadweight tons, ranking fourth in the world
However, compared with developed countries, there are three gaps:firstly,China's maritime service industry has been in a long-term deficit in service trade, especially the competitiveness of the high-end service industry is relatively weak compared to developed countries; The second reason is that the fleet size of the Five Star Red Flag is relatively small.Among the 142 million deadweight tons, some are actually five-star red flag ships and some are Chinese convenience flag ships. The overall scale of the five-star red flag fleet is relatively small, and the capacity structure, specialized fleet, and technical level need to be optimized and improved;Thirdly, the overall share of China's shipping enterprises in carrying import and export cargo volume is relatively low, currently accounting for 1/4 of the total import and export cargo volume. The overall ability to ensure the safe operation of China's economy is still insufficient.
